The French 9 final exam will take place on Friday, June 15 from 9:00 to 11:00 in room 5.
Students are expected to remain in the exam room for 90 minutes. Everyone should bring a book to read in case they are finished writing their exam early. There will be written and oral components of the exam. Attached is a study package which outlines the type of questions which will be found in the written section. Think of a story for your comic strip about food. You can use the texts that you have already done about "ton déjeuner préféré", "les smoothies" et "le mélange que ton ami(e) aime" to think about ideas and structures that you can use. We will be using Comic Life and pictures that I will supply to you. The midterm for Français 8 takes place on TUESDAY, JANUARY 24, 9h00 to 10h30. All students will begin reviewing for this exam during the week of January 9 to 13. If parents or students have any concerns or questions, please email ([email protected] or call me (667-5901). Here is the review booklet if parents wish to help their student prepare.
I will be use this page to keep you posted about activities in our french class. Most work will be done during class time. Homework is rarely given. Of course, speaking, listening to, reading and thinking in French at home is always encouraged!!

On Friday and Monday, we do a review of what you should study for the final exam. If you have any questions at all, please come and see me in the Learning Commons. We will be working on dialogues this week in class. By the following week, we will be working in the computer lab.
Please do some thinking about what you will include in your dialogue for your comic strip! Here are some possible scenerios.... Scenérios possibles pour la bande dessinée: Tu decide de manger seulement les bananes pour le déjeuner, le diner et le souper. Th decide de devenir un végétarienne. Tu es un végétarienne mais tu adore Ic bacon. Tu veux manger du riz mais tu ne peux plus Ic trouver a Whitehorse Tu voyage en Chine parce que tu adore Ia cuisine Chinoise Tu voyage en Italic parce que tu adore Ia cuisine Italienne. Ton aim veux que tu essaies quelque chose étrange mais tu as peur. Tu prepare du pad thai pour ton souper, mais tout a coup, Miguel l’a mange. Tu visite ton arnie mais tu n’aime pas le souper. Ton docteur t’a dit que tu dois limiter les Cheetos dans ton régime. Tu veux ajouter les glucides / les proteines / les vitamines dans ton régime. We will begin our review on Monday, January 18. Each student will receive a review booklet which covers all concepts on the exam. Please speak to Ms. Clarke immediately if you will be away on January 26 to that we can make alternative arrangements. I am available before school, during lunch and after school to answer any questions! All grade 8 and 9 french students will attend FRANCO-CONNEXTION at the Canada Games Centre on Monday, November 30 from 12:15 to 3:00 pm. The buses will pick us up shortly after the lunch bell rings so all students NEED TO BRING A BAG LUNCH ON MONDAY. The buses will drop us off before the final bell at the end of the day so students will be right on time to catch their school buses home. There are many excellent activities planned so it promises to be a wonderful afternoon!
