Final ICT Assignment
Here is a copy of the final project for ICT. There will be time to work on it in tomorrow's class following the end of Imitation Game. If you have decided not to watch the movie in class, please watch it over the summer. It is an excellent film!!
The final project is not meant to be difficult. It is designed to be a creative, hopefully enjoyable way, to express and synthesis what we have studied this term. You may ask why a tech course has a written one-pager as a final assignment. I decided that I did not want mastering flashy technology to get in the way of expressing contact. I also wanted a level playing field for those who do not have access to a computer at home. Artists and non-artists alike can succeed!
Any questions, please ask!

Amazing Tech Corps!
I hope that you have all had a relaxing break and have enjoyed some of this amazing sunshine.
1. MEDIA MONDAY: We will start the class by discussing any tech media stories that you may have heard or interesting technology that you may have encountered either in town or on your travels.
2. Eva, Josh, AJ - please try your Rapid Identity. ITSS assured me that your accounts have been fixed.
3. Not finished your emoji? Please work on that.
4. Completed your emoji and are totally satisfied with it? You can now move on to preliminary work on your inquiry project. I would like you to do some brainstorming work with at least 2 partners before going any further.
TECH TUESDAY: we are touring the NorthLight Innovation Hub. We will tour the facility as well as meet with someone who works at the CoSpace. Be ready with questions - why does he like to work there? What sort of technology is he using? How is it possible for him to do his work at a distance from his company's headquarters?

Daily / weekly goal setting: I would like you to set a goal for yourself every day. Once we start in on longer projects, you will set daily and weekly goals. The nature of this course is quite a lot of "free" time on computers. I want you to do this work with intention. There will be time for experimentation, investigation, failure and play all while completing assignments. Choose a method to keep your goals that I can see and that saves your past goals so that you (and I) can see how much you have accomplished.
Use a paper journal, First Class, calendar, Lifetick (https://lifetick.com/application/authentication/requires_login/personal#/goals) or another programme that you show to me.
Check out the slideshow below!!
Today's project: complete variable game/programme. Add calculations to an existing programme or code another. See what you can do with Micro.bits and Scratch.scratch.mit.edu/microbit

- Create a program that asks the user for two numbers and then determines which number is larger.
- Create a program which asks the user a simple math question (for example, what is 3 + 5?). Let the user enter their answer and compare their answer to the correct answer. If the user gets it right, congratulate them. If they get it wrong, tell them what the correct answer was.
extension: Make this program more interesting by using the random number generator to create a new question each time.
